Some of my Photography

The semester is finally over. Hooray for that. I had a biology class that had a crazy assignment that was worth a test grade. The Prof. wanted us to go out into the Sierra Nevada mountains and identify and take pictures of different biotic communities. I finally have a chance to actually post them now that the semester is over with. Here's some of my pictures in all of their 3.2 megapixel glory.

Classes start again

Today classes start again at Fresno City College. This semester I'm still taking a full load of classes even though I have my associates degree, I want to work towards my bachelors degree by transferring to Fresno State but now that the state is out of money, that might not be a possibility. I'm going to try to transfer in so please help me pray that I get accepted.

Happy 4th of July

Today is the day we celebrate our independence from the British by blowing up stuff in a lot of different colors. Enjoy.

On a serious note: Happy Birthday USA. Live long and prosper.

School is out, children everywhere rejoice, parents cry

I want to congratulate all of the 2009 graduates. You've accomplished something and didn't drop out or quit and you should be commended for all of your hard work. I especially want to congratulate the six graduates from my high school alma matter, Truth Tabernacle Christian School. It's funny that ever sense I graduated and don't have to be in the commencement ceremony any more I have had to usher that graduation wednesday.

that's all I got for now.
peace out

What's been going on

Well this last week has been eventful, It started out with a lab final on the monday the 11th in my Cisco class. I had to hook up three routers with three computers, making a local area network. This consists of wiring, setting up the protocols, sub netting, and adding ip addresses to all interfaces. I got through it with a nice A.
Also last week was the annual church picnic for my church, Truth Tabernacle, and our branch works. It was a good day of eating, baseball, and fellowship.
Well I have some more finals this week so I had better get studying for those.

Mother's Day

I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to mothers everywhere, but especially two mothers in particular: my mother, of course, and sis. Juli Kimbley. Thanks for everything.

I have the answer

I was thinking today about the answer to a huge question that has plagued mankind for ages: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
To answer this question I did some research.

This is a picture of a woodchuck, also know as the groundhog. They can measure up to 26 inches long and weigh up to 9 pounds. So to answer this question: A woodchuck can not chuck very much wood if it could chuck wood. If a woodchuck weighs up to only 9 pounds it probably can't lift and/or throw a piece of wood that weighs more than it's body weight.

The Dentist

Hey world,
This morning at 10 I have an appointment for a check up and cleaning at the dentist. Going to the dentist always makes me nervous because I never know when I have a cavity. Then when I do it's always a terrible surprise. When I don't, I breath a huge sigh of relief. It's not that I dislike my dentist, because he's pretty cool and good at what he does, but I dislike the whole experience. People probing around my mouth is not my idea of a good time.

Semester's End

Hey everyone,
I took a look at my calender today and noticed, aside from the guard duck from Pearls Before Swine, that there is only two more weeks of school until finals week. This is kinda freaking me out because I have all my classes and units to get my Associates degree in Computer Networking. If I don't mess up on the finals for all my classes I will be a community college graduate. Of course I have to take a couple of more classes to be eligible for transfer to Fresno State, so I'll be taking Biology and Philosophy next semester.
Also this summer starts my big leap into the work force. I have been putting some time in volunteer work at Fresno City College, where I'm currently enrolled, but not getting payed can be a big drag. Not that it's been a bad experience. I have really learned a lot from the guys at the Technology Support Services, and have learned a lot just being able to try to fix stuff on my own. So this summer I have to send my resume to pretty much everyone with a tech department and see if anyone is hiring.
Well that's all for now,

Rock, Paper, Scissors: Terribly out of date so say hello to Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock

Recently I ran across a new product on Thinkgeek.com. Although I like pretty much everything on their site and wish I had enough money to buy everything, this was really interesting. It's a shirt with the instructions on how to play this classic game with a twist. Just as it says in the title the two new elements: Lizard and Spock.
Here Is how the game is played:
Scissors cuts Paper
Paper covers Rock
Rock crushes Lizard
Lizard poisons Spock
Spock smashes Scissors
Scissors decapitates Lizard
Lizard eats Paper
Paper disproves Spock
Spock vaporizes Rock
and as always, Rock crushes Scissors

the Dark-Suck theory of light

One of my Teachers were messing around one day and he told us about a theory that he proposed in college for fun. His premise for this theory was that devices and things that put out light didn't do that at all. Instead, for example, a lightbulb would suck the darkness out of a room, and in it's place would be light. Light bulbs, according to the theory, would be dark sucking or countering devices. The intensity of the light would depend on how much darkness is taken from the room.
Light bulbs are taken for granted too often. When you enter a darken room, you flip the light switch. What happens? Does a light come on or does the darkness leave? Don't think about it too hard.

Happy April Fools day everyone. It's been a while sense my last post. Well a couple things have happened sense then. For one I'm a year older. My birthday was last month on the 12th.
This Saturday is going to be the first of five Easter dramas that I'm in at my church. My role is kind of weird because I start as a random, no name disciple then end of in the crowd scenes yelling to crucify Jesus. So I go from one extreme to another. I really hope no one gets turned off my the betrayal of more than half of the disciples.

Random Poetry

It's easy to grin,
When your ship comes in,
And you got the stock market beat.
A man worth while
Is a man who can smile
When his pants aren't to tight in the seat
